Wuhe Economic Development Zone as a provincial level development zone contains Chengnan Industrial Park and Mo He Kou Industrial Park with a total planning area of 61.5 km2. By the end of 2010, the Zone comprises 232 enterprises (2010 saw 84 newcomers, 33 in Chengnan Park and 51 in Mo He Kou), 116 in Chengnan Park with 61 in operation, 46 in construction and 9 to be built, 116 in Mo He Kou with 32 in operation, 63 in construction and 21 to be built.
The Chengnan Park was set up in 2003 and become the provincial economic development zone by the approval of the provincial government in Feb. 2006. It covers a planning area of 16 km2 and a built-up part of 8.5 km2. The Park, boasting of perfect infrastructure and a transforming base of textile and food, mainly involves in the making of light textile clothing and food.
The Mo He Kou Industrial Park, also known as Bengbu Fine Chemical Hi-New Technology Industry Base, was set up by the approval of Anhui Provincial People’s Government and the Ministry of Development and Reform. It covers a planning area of 45.5 km2 (which has passed the experts’ examination and submitted to the provincial government. And the area of land-planning expands to 30 km2), among which 15 km2 are built up. Here the infrastructure construction is completed. As a base for industrial transfer concerning fine and special steel in-depth processing, equipment-making, mechanical electronics, new material and fine chemical industry, the Park mainly involves in the industries of fine and special steel in-depth processing and fine chemistry.
