"Freedom and security are precious gifts

that we, as Americans, should never take for granted. We must do all we can to extend our hand in times of need to those who willingly sacrifice each day to provide that freedom & security. While we can never do enough to show gratitude to our nation's defenders,

we can always do a little more."                                                                                                                                                                                                                      - Gary Sinise

Welcome to the 3rd Annual

Run Forrest Run 5/10K!

Continuing a long tradition of patriotism at the University of Notre Dame, the 3rd Annual Run Forrest Run 5/10K kicks off on Saturday, April 22, 2017 in support of the Gary Sinise Foundation's tireless work on behalf of our country’s most severely wounded heroes. Over $21,000 has been raised through the on-campus races and Virtual runs in 25 states!

Last year we were honored to have Medal of Honor Recipient Sammy L. Davis & MSG John Masson speak and participate in the Run for the Real Lt. Dans. Believe it or not, it’s been over 20 years since Gary Sinise played Lt. Dan Taylor in the movie Forrest Gump. Since then he has committed his time to making a real difference honoring our defenders, veterans, and first responders.

The event is a collaborative effort of Notre Dame’s AAS & ATLAS ROTC service groups, dedicated to the “Real Lt. Dans” who sacrifice so much for our freedom.

Join the Virtual 5/10k Run/Walk! Support the Gary Sinise Foundation as a Virtual team or individual. Run/walk to honor a veteran, active military member, and the Real Lt. Dans.  On race week a race T-shirt, race bib, and certificate which will be sent USPS. Registration will open in mid-December! Please post your photos at #ForTheRealLtDans
