Race Day Details - Run Forrest Run 5/10K
Date: Saturday, March 28, 2020 at 9:30 am. EST (Friends coming in from Chicago, we are 1 hour ahead!)
All Packet Pickup is on Race Day morning: 7:45 am - 9:05 am.
Important!! All runners under 18 years of age must have a Minor Waiver signed by a parent/guardian to receive your race bib. Thank you!
Location: South Library Quad and the north stadium entrance on the campus of the University of Notre Dame. Moose Krause Circle at the North Gate of the Stadium (Knute Rockne Gate).
Race Parking: Convenient parking in the Stadium Lot. Washrooms available in the Duncan Student Center (west side of stadium on the way to check-in at the north stadium entrance) and the Hesburgh Library under the Touchdown Jesus Mural.
Opening Ceremony: 9:15 am Presentation of the Colors by NROTC Honor Guard & National Anthem. Opening Remarks by veteran MSG. Cedric King (US Army, Ret.), Gary Sinise Foundation future R.I.S.E. home recipient. Race starts promptly at 9:30am EST.
Race Shirts: Guaranteed for registrations made through March 23rd.
Race Day Schedule:
7:30 am: Parking in Stadium Lot
7:45 am-9:05 am: Packet pickup at race start; north stadium entrance.
9:10 am: Presentation of the Colors NROTC Honor Guard, National Anthem, Opening Remarks by Honored Guest USArmy Major Jeremy Haynes Ret.
9:30 am: The 5k & 10k race starts
10:45 am: 5K awards start. Overall Male & Female winners receive a custom Challenge Coin, plaque, and $100 Certificate from Fleet Feet Sports-Mishawaka. Second place overall race finishers receive a Challenge Coin. 56 age group awards & winners receive a medal & a $25 Fleet-Feet certificate. Finish line celebration.
11:15am: Talk with hero Maj. Jeremy Haynes and representative from the Gary Sinise Foundation
11:45 am 10K awards
12:15 am Celebration concludes.
ALL PACKET PICKUPS ARE ON RACE DAY: Packet pickup starts at 7:45am-9:05am at the race start on the brick circle at the north Stadium entrance - all pickups are on the morning of the race. Must be 13 years+ to participate. Runners under the age of 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent to participate. All adult runners must also complete a race waiver at check-in (we'll have a form ready for you!).
LOCATION OF CHECK-IN & RACE START/FINISH: South Library and the north stadium entrance; open at 7:45am.

VOLUNTEERS: Please check-in at the Volunteer table. Sign-up before March 18th and receive a T-shirt for helping us support the Gary Sinise Foundation. Note: all non-student volunteers must sign a waiver. If 18 yrs or under, please bring Minor Waiver signed by a parent.
RESTROOMS: the Duncan Student Center restrooms are located on the way from the Stadium Lot and near race check-in at the north Stadium entrance.
COURSE DESCRIPTION: Runners will pass Notre Dame's iconic landmarks including the Golden Dome, "Stonehenge", St. Mary's Lake, the Thomas A. Coleman Firehouse, 'Touchdown Jesus', and Notre Dame Stadium.
RACE RESULTS: The race will be chip timed by T&H Timing, Valparaiso, IN.2017 results at top of this page.

AWARDS: There will be an overall male & female winner for the 5k & 10k who will receive a custom Challenge Coin, plaque & $100 certificate to Fleet Feet Sports Mishawaka! Medals & a $25 Fleet Feet certificate will be awarded to the winners of the following Age Groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and over. Thank you to race sponsor Fleet Feet Sports-Mishawaka for their support. *If you can't stay to receive your award, let us know.
Weather: The race will take place in all weather conditions, unless notified by University officials. We regret due to the charitable nature of this event, if the RFR 5/10K is cancelled due to extenuating circumstances, we will not be able to issue refunds.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Are baby joggers allowed? Yes, but we need to you sign a waiver for your little one (sorry it’s a legal thing!).
Can my dog run with me on the course? We love dogs, but after a checking with ND Risk Management, only service dogs are allowed to run on the course.
Drones: While drones are very cool, we regret they are not allowed to be used at the race.
